The weekly circulation of 10,500 copies covers primarily the rural hinterland of Franklin including Waiuku, Papakura and Pukekohe. It is mixed farming which includes horticulture, market gardening, fruit growing, dairy, sheep as well as many small lifestyle blocks. The circulation also includes the large residential areas of Waiuku (6500 population), Clarks Beach, Glenbrook, Patumahoe and Paerata.
A montly paper of 20,000 copies, produced first week of each month, is distributed to above areas as welll as Pukekohe township and Pukekohe East including Bombay and Ararimu.
Because of the geographic proximity to Auckland many of the population commute to work in the city and retain an affluent lifestyle, while retirement housing completes a very cosmopolitan diversity. Franklin is one of the fastest growing areas in New Zealand, attracting industry and lifestylers. It is also the home of NZ Steel, one of New Zealsnd's largest industries.
